The Golden Rule
If anything goes wrong, two buttons rescue you:
- VR — press A on the right controller to open the menu. Press X to reset or exit a scene.
- PC — press F1 to open the menu. Press Escape to return to the Museum Hall.
I am stuck inside a scene
Press the reset button (X in VR, Escape on PC). You will return to the Museum Hall.
I cannot find the menu
In VR, press the A button on the right controller. On PC, press F1. The menu appears as an overlay with options for the current scene and a button to return to the hub.
I cannot hear any sound
Check that your headphones or speakers are connected and that the volume is up. The museum uses spatial sound — you may need to approach a colored sphere to hear its note. In some scenes the hearing radius can be adjusted in the menu.
I see a black screen / nothing is loading
Restart the application. If the problem persists, restart your VR headset or computer. Make sure your headset firmware is up to date.
I feel dizzy or motion-sick in VR
This can happen, especially in scenes with flying or rotation. If you feel unwell: take the headset off and rest your eyes; sit down if you were standing; drink some water; come back later — the museum will wait.
Some visitors find that beginning with non-flying scenes (Newton’s Circle, the Tonnetz, the Cube Dance, the Möbius Strip) is more comfortable than starting with flying scenes (Planet 4D, the Torus, the Octatonic Tesseract).
A 360° film looks strange on my PC
This is normal. On a PC, 360° films are projected like YouTube VR — you drag the mouse to look around the sphere. The experience is designed for VR headsets and is much more immersive there.
A scene loads slowly or stutters
Some scenes contain many objects (Scene 14 in particular). If your computer is older, performance may dip when switching between display modes. Wait a few seconds for the scene to settle, or simplify the display through the scene’s menu.
I clicked on something and a chord went silent or got stuck
Press the reset button (X in VR, Escape on PC) and try again. If the problem persists across multiple scenes, restart the application.
The voice guide is not reading the scene aloud
Press one of the three pictogram buttons (child, musician, researcher) in the scene. The voice system is being completed progressively.
I have a question that is not answered here

For the most determined visitor
If the application freezes completely and the reset buttons do not respond:
- VR — remove the headset and press the headset’s power button to restart it.
- PC — close the application via the operating system (Alt+F4 on Windows, Cmd+Q on Mac) and restart it.
Your progress in the museum is not saved between sessions — every visit begins fresh in the Museum Hall.
