The Mathemusical Virtual Museum is being brought to the phone. This is new, and it is growing.
The full museum lives in virtual reality and on the PC, where all sixteen rooms are open. On the phone, we are porting the rooms one at a time, and this section of the manual will grow as each one arrives.
What is available now
Lewin’s Compass (Scene 15) is in beta test on mobile. It is the first room to make the move to the phone. You can already explore the Generalized Interval System and build well-formed scales on a touch screen, with the same Newton’s Circle, the same arrows, and the same sounds as the VR version.
Because it is a beta, expect a few rough edges. Things will change, improve, and occasionally surprise you. That is the nature of a beta — and your experience of it genuinely helps.
More rooms will follow. Which ones, and in what order, is partly up to you.
How to move on a phone
The phone version uses touch instead of controllers:
- Tap a point on the circle to select it — the same gesture that, in VR, you make with the laser or the controller.
- Drag on the background to look around.
- The menu and its tabs work as on-screen buttons, just as in VR and on PC.
Each room that arrives on mobile will describe its own touch controls here, the way the VR and PC quick starts do for those platforms.
Your ideas are welcome
This is the part that matters most. The mobile museum is being shaped as it is built, and we want to hear from the people using it.
If you have ideas — a room you would love to see on the phone next, a control that would feel more natural, something that confused you, something that delighted you — please tell us. Visitor suggestions directly influence what gets ported and how.

While the phone version grows, the complete museum — all sixteen rooms, the four-floor building, the Géode, the demos — is on VR (a headset like the Meta Quest) and on PC. See the Quick Start — VR and Quick Start — PC sections for those.
The phone is the newest door into the museum. Come back often; there will be more behind it each time.
