Did Zappa know he was drawing 4 Z in the TonnetZ ?
No Copyright Infrigiment, We are scientists, this is a pedagogic movie.
This video helps to see what non musician don not hear naturally.
Did Zappa know that he was drawing 4 Z ...in the tonnetz ?
Surely he did know that this chord sequence was remarquable.
In this sequence, Frank Zappa, uses 4 times the same chords sequences. This sequence looks like a Z in th eTonnetz.
He transposes this sequence of one Minor Third 4 times and returns to the start point
This movie shows the Harmonic Progression, on the 2D Tonnetz, and with the Hypersphere AnySet, from the Planet-4D System developped form my PhD.

The Windmills of Your Mind: 2D and 4D Visualization of descending fifth chords progression
2D Tonnetz and 4D Hypersphere are used to visualize the chords ...
2D Tonnetz and 4D Hypersphere are used to visualize the chords progression in this Michel Legrand 's masterpiece. This is a descending fifth relationship that is well known by musicians, ...the 4D-Hypersphere rotates slowly and smoothly as the falling fifth sequence. This is also a small tribute to the great Maurice André whose sound lulled my childhood. Visit MatheMusic4D.net to learn more about the hypersphere based musical representations.

Sountrack is a sample from Blues Brothers (c) John Landis.
Displaying the three chords this blues is made of on a circle, ...and letting it rotate enables the layman to see the inner structure of the grid. This is an introduction to our representation system where the rotating ball shows the actual position within the musical space.[+] Show More

What you see is the Tonnetz, a network of Tonalities, extended with the color scheme developped during my PhD. I've added "Zhi Zhu" : a spider moving from place ...to place.
The SpiderWeb represents the Main Tonality, that's why ZhiZhu comes back to the center.
During the hamiltonian path, ZhiZhu is free because there is no tonal attraction.
In La Sera, Moreno Andreatta uses both Tonal attraction principia and an Hamiltonian path.

Premiered in Torino by Moreno Andreatta on 15 dec 2016 at Teatro Colosseo in the presence of Mestro Paolo Conte.
In this piece, Paolo Conte uses a Pattern called "Turn Around", ...( in latin languages we say "Anatole") that will translate from G to Bb for the Chorus.
The spider web symbolizes the tonal center,
We illustrate basic harmonic movements : falling fifths and relative relation.
The Tonnetz has been invented by Euler, modified by Riemann, Douthett & Steinbach, Baroin & Seress.
The Planet-4D ideographic System, based on graph theory has been developed in my PhD.

HamilFloyd : The Gunners Dream Extended

Starting from the famous Gunners Dream by Pink Floyds, Moreno Andreatta imagined an extension to the original harmonic path:
"Hamiltonian cycles on the Cube Dance"
The Cube Dance , is a Tonnetz ...concieved by Jack Douthett and Peter Steinbach that features all triads (major and minor chords) like the original Tonnetz, and the Augmented chords ; i.e C+ = (do mi sol#)
In this graph, neighbor chords differ form only one note.
During an Hamiltonian cycle , the harmony will go once through all possible chords, neighbor chords differ form only one note.
